PRE-CUT MEASUREMENT · NATURAL STONE
MEASURE THE FACE.Then cut.
The pre-cut face audit for natural stone quarries. ANATOLIT measures the quarry face, maps the visible discontinuities your team reads on a tape, and tests cutting plans against your quarry’s own rules — before irreversible decisions are made.
A REAL QUARRY FACE · RECTIFIED · 13 DISCONTINUITIES READ ON THE TAPE

01 · THE DECISION
The cut is decided before the wire goes in.
Where the cuts go is set while the mass is still standing. Once the wire is through, that decision cannot be taken back. Today it rests on the foreman’s eye and experience. ANATOLIT adds a measured map of the face to that decision.
02 · HOW IT WORKS
From photos to a face report.
- 01
Capture
Walk the face from left to right and take around 30 photos. A quality gate checks the set before you leave the face.
- 02
3D model of the face
The photos become a 3D model of the face, and you mark which way is up. Distances in the report come from tape readings in metres, not from the photos.
- 03
Your rules
Your quarry’s own rules go in: what counts as a commercial piece, how heavy a mass can be split and transported, and where the foreman planned to cut. Nothing is assumed by default.
- 04
Face report
Visible discontinuities, the cutting plans side by side, and any slice that cannot yield a commercial piece under your rules and the model’s assumptions.
03 · THE REPORT
Every cutting plan, scored on the same face.
The proposal, the foreman’s plan and the best shift of a fixed spacing are scored on the same face, with the same rule for what counts as commercial.
- Visible discontinuity
- Foreman’s cuts
- Proposal
| Plan | Cuts (m) | Model volume | Cut surface |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proposal | 0 · 2.25 · 4.5 · 6 | 21.6 m³ | 40 m² |
| Foreman’s plan | 0 · 2.2 · 4.4 · 6 | 22.0 m³ | 40 m² |
| Fixed 2 m, best shift | 0 · 0.2 · 2.2 · 4.2 · 6 | 20.4 m³ | 44 m² |
If the foreman's plan is better, the report says so.
04 · SEALED BEFORE THE CUT
Judged on your rock, not on our word.
Every report is frozen before it is shown: the inputs, the chosen options, the engine version and the full report, with a SHA-256 fingerprint. In a pilot, the seal is opened after the cut and compared with what the face gave.

05 · BLIND TEST
Test it on your next cut.
- 01
20-minute demo
Remote. We show the workflow on a synthetic face and you tell us how your quarry decides its cuts.
- 02
Measure and seal
On a date that suits you, we measure the face you are about to cut. The report is sealed before the cut.
- 03
Open together
After the cut, we open the seal together and compare it with what the face gave.
The validation protocol carries no fee. Any paid work is agreed in writing beforehand.
06 · METHOD
Built on established rock-mechanics methods — the scanline survey of a quarry face — carried out with a phone, a measuring tape and a set of photos.

08 · FAQ
Questions quarries ask.
Does it see inside the rock?
No. It measures the visible surface of the face. Discontinuities are assumed to continue into the rock as planes — a standard assumption in rock mechanics, and stated in every report.
Do I need special equipment?
A phone, a measuring tape and a few strips of marking tape as reference marks. The 3D model is built on a laptop.
Does it replace my foreman?
No. The foreman’s plan is an input. The report scores it next to the proposal with the same rules — and if the foreman’s plan is better, the report says so.
What happens to my quarry data?
Photos, models and reports of your face are treated as confidential. They are used only to produce your reports and to validate our own tool, and are not disclosed to third parties except where required by law or with your written consent.
What does a pilot cost?
The validation protocol carries no fee. If you want to continue, pricing is agreed in writing before any paid work starts.
Where is ANATOLIT based?
ANATOLIT LTD is registered in England and Wales (company no. 17429759) and works with quarries internationally.
